A Major Change for a 14-User Medical Practice

We’ve recently completed a major migration from Genie Solutions to Best Practice Premier for a 14-user medical clinic. The project brought together a change in practice software, a transition in computer hardware and a new server implementation—and we’re pleased to report that the migration and go-live went extremely well.

For a medical practice, a change like this touches the tools the team relies on every day. Looking at the complete IT environment helps bring those moving parts together.

Moving from Macs to Windows PCs

Alongside the software migration, the project involved moving many of the clinic’s Mac workstations to Windows PCs and implementing a Best Practice server to support the new environment.

This is an important consideration for practices planning a similar move. The software decision is one part of the project; the workstations, server and everyday needs of the team also need to be considered together. Understanding that scope early helps a practice prepare for the transition.

A Successful Go-Live—and Your Next Step

The clinic is now live with Best Practice Premier, marking the successful completion of a substantial IT change. It’s a project we’re pleased to have delivered, with a very positive result.

If your practice is considering moving from Genie to Best Practice Premier, or transitioning from Macs to Windows PCs, Mac Medical can help you understand what’s involved and plan the right approach for your team.
